We do not reuse head gaskets, head bolts, timing chain tensioners or bearing shells. JLR engines have single-use parts, whether visible or not, and we replace them every time.
Every rebuild follows the same measured, documented sequence, built around the Land Rover Workshop Manual and JLR-specific tooling.
A full scan of the engine ECU, DPF, Terrain Response and transmission. All fault codes are recorded before any dismantling begins.
The engine is reduced to a bare block. Every part is checked against Land Rover Workshop Manual tolerances.
Block honed, cylinder head resurfaced and crankshaft reground where necessary. All machining is done in-house.
New bearings, piston rings, valve stem seals, timing chain tensioners and gaskets throughout. On TDV6, the modified tensioner LR#LR029351 is fitted as standard. On Ingenium units, a new HPFP LR#LR064285 is fitted as standard.
Every fastener is tightened to JLR Workshop Manual sequences with a calibrated torque angle gauge. AJ-V8 head bolts: 30Nm + 90° + 90° + 90°. TDV6 head bolts: 30Nm + 90° + 90°.
Compression test to a minimum of 22 bar with no more than 1.5 bar variance across cylinders. The oil system is primed before first start. A post-installation SDD scan verifies ECU matching, DPF matching and zero pending fault codes, followed by a live-data road test before handover.

Every rebuild and repair we carry out comes with a written warranty on parts and labour. The term scales with the work: a complete rebuild carries a longer warranty than a top-end overhaul, and the terms are written down and agreed before work begins.
If a warranty issue ever arises after a rebuild, you deal with us directly. You are never sent to a parts supplier or a third party. We hold the warranty on the work we did on your vehicle, and we stand behind it.
Where a rebuild is not viable, we supply and fit tested reconditioned units from our own stock, and the same warranty applies.
